1k Blog Party!

Hello everyone, it’s Saturday here and what’s the best thing to do?? Cuddle up with a cup of hot tea/chocolate and join my party!

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Today I’m celebrating hitting 1000 subscribers (can you imagine!) and I believe the whole weekend deserves to be dedicated to the occasion! The party will be open today and tomorrow, so don’t forget to join whenever that suits you! The idea is to meet new bloggers and interact with them.

A long time ago, Angela hosted a blog party and asked everyone to bring something, and today I’m asking you to think of a traditional dish! We’ve gathered from all around the world, and I’m curious to know more about your culture and cuisine! If you can’t think of anything, please bring some cake 😀 Now introduce yourselves, your blog, and don’t forget to have fun!

Let me start first! My name is Siyana and I’m going to prepare a pitka. That’s a traditional bulgarian dish. In the past, the hosts of the gathering (wedding, birthday, etc) used to meet and greet their guests with pitka and coloured salt (which is salt with some dried herbs in it), or honey. Pitka is the most delicious bread you could ever taste, trust me!

Your turn!

p.s. please share, so more people could join the party and therefore see your blog!

I know burek! It’s really similar to our banitsa haha but we don’t put meat in it! Balkan countries are so alike in their cuisine, aren’t they! Our pitka is also called pogacha, if sounds familiar to you 🙂

Hi guys! My name is Angela, and I’m going to wave both my nationality flags and bring a dish from both New Zealand and the Philippines!
I’m bringing some Chicken Adobo (it’s an amazing easy and popular dish where the chicken marinates in garlic and soy sauce) and a Pavlova (a classic kiwi dessert with a meringue base topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit)!!

        October 9, 2017 at 8:14 pm
    • Reply Siyana

Believe it or not, Pavlova is a legit Bulgarian surname 😀

p.s. I googled it and here what it said: The dessert – meringue with fruit and cream – was named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, who visited both countries in the 1920s. Australians and New Zealanders agree on that, but not on who invented it.

      Maybe Bulgarians invented it? 😀

      October 8, 2017 at 11:21 am
      • Reply lifeofangela

Haha, that’s so cool!! I never knew the origins of the name, just that the dessert is super popular down here. The dessert I think was invented down here, but it’s become a squabble between both countries over who did it first 😂 But who knows for sure, maybe we’re arguing for no reason 😂😂

Congratulations on the 1000 followers 🙂 I’m Sarah, My blog is and I am going to bring black peas as I am curious as to where else eats these, they are very common in Lancashire in England, most frequently eaten around bombfire night. They are made from “the purple podded pea which is soaked overnight and simmered to produce a type of mushy pea.” – that might not sound that appetizing, nor do they really look it – but they are delicious! Let me know if you have heard of these?! Thank you Siyana 🙂
