Everyone hypes about how good Charlotte Tilbury make up is, don’t they! And because I’m a very basic and curious bi….logger, I really really wanted to treat myself and try at least one of her products.
I put the CT lipstick on my wishlist and waited for the miracle to happen. And you know what, I’ve got it as a Valentine’s Day gift yey!! Keep reading to find out if this Charlotte Tilbury lipstick lived up to my expectations!
Obviously the packaging is gorgeous and it was exactly what I’ve expected. It’s super shiny, beautiful and classy, and also feels heavy and luxurious. Absolutely adore it!
I’ve listed a few shades that I wanted to try, and it was my boyfriend who picked Pillow Talk for me. I can’t complain, because it’s one of the most (if not the actual) most popular and hyped about products, and I was really excited to add it to my collection.
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t swatch the lipstick for a few days, because I wanted to enjoy its beauty and I was afraid not to ruin it. Anyone doing the same or is it just me? 😀
Anyways, I finally found the courage to try it and… well I was surprised.
Pillow Talk is a part of the Matte Revolution collection, but to be honest, it doesn’t look or feel like matte to me. It doesn’t dry down matte at any point, but has this casual sheen to it, which I don’t mind but you know… false advertising.
When it comes to texture – I found it really soft and creamy, and feels really nice on the lips. It’s moisturizing and has a really nice sweet scent as well, so I can’t say anything bad about that.
However, I definitely wouldn’t say it’s long-lasting (and even the cheapest lipsticks on my lips are), something that I might be a little bit disappointed of.
The shade is.. well, interesting. I thought it was going to be ‘my lips but better‘ type of lipstick but it’s actually just ‘my lips‘. Honestly I can even see if I have this lipstick on or if it’s faded throughout the day. It is literally my exact lip shade!!
The first time I’ve tried it I was like ‘so that’s all??’. Then I avoided it for a while, because I didn’t want to disappoint myself even more, but now I’m kind of getting used to it. I sometimes manage to get a pinky hue, especially if I apply about five layers at once. But at the same time I don’t want to waste it, so I don’t. That sounds very confusing, doesn’t it 😀
This Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk feels like a very expensive lip balm to me. Like I said, it has a nice texture and scent, and makes your lips feel really smooth, but perhaps I’d have been more impressed if I’ve got another shade. I’m not saying that I don’t appreciate the one that I’ve received, it’s just that it basically looks non-existent on my lips.
I definitely have mixed feelings about this CT lipstick, but I’m learning to love it. It might become my favourite nude lipstick one day, but I’ll keep you updated on that. Overall, I’d really love to get another CT lipstick in the future, just because it’s CT and not because it’s the best lipstick I’ve ever tried. Soooo… is it worth the hype? You tell me 😀
