My everyday skin cleansing routine

This is literally my favourite time of the day – coming home and taking all my make up off. I just live for this moment – I find it to be so fulfilling and refreshing. To me, it means that the day is over and I can finally award myself a peaceful rest. Who doesn’t love that!

My skin is normal to dry and doesn’t usually get extremely oily (perhaps sometimes when it’s too hot but this is rarely the case up here in Scotland). Anyway, I strive to use the mildest possible products because I easily get various allergy reactions and skin irritations. So if you think you have similar conditions to me, I should let you know that these products are tested and Siyana-approved!

Initial Cleansing

The first product I’m using is the Avene Cleansing Foam. I was specifically looking for a product which was not gel, as I don’t like its sticky and slippery consistency, or milk, as after use I still feel dirty. Unfortunately there are too few brands that offer foaming cleansing products and I’m so happy that Avene is not one of them! The product promises to mattify the skin, moisturize it, tighten the pores and do all the wonders in the world. I honestly don’t see its tightening effect, although it does leave the skin smooth and definitively doesn’t overdry it. I really like the fact that it’s soap free and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. It also has this fresh and delicate scent that I’m a great fan of.

What I do is wet my hands and then apply the foam onto my face. Then I use this pretty Primark cleansing brush to scrub all over (although I must say it’s far from my favourite). I find its ‘brushy’ part to be too soft and mostly absorbing the product, therefore I tend to use only its pink side. I’m sure it’s not how I’m supposed to use it, but I don’t have any other option at the moment. I then rinse thoroughly and move on to the second step.

Micellar Water

After I’ve cleansed my skin with the foam, I like to pour some of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water on a cotton pad and go over my eyes. This way I pick up any left mascara and eyeliner. I have the big bottle (400ml) as well, but prefer this cute mini one. When I empty it I simply refill it and use it again.

Finishing touches

The last step of my cleaning routine is spraying some Avene Thermal Spring Water. It’s basically just spring water captured at its source. The special thing about it is that all of the minerals and healthy vitamins are captured and preserved in the bottle. This water helps for skin irritation, sunburn, diaper rash, following make-up removal, following shaving, following exercise, following hair removal, during travel for cooling (taken from the Avene website). What I like most about this product is that is reduces any redness and makes me cool as a lily!

Got the joke? Cool? Lily? Never mind.

I would also love to use some scrub product, unfortunately I haven’t found the one that suits me. I’d love to read some of your suggestions in the comments section down below. Thank you for your time!

Yes, I do, however I don’t consider it as part of my cleansing procedure and just like the scrub – haven’t found ‘the one’ 🙂

Awww try ‘Nip + Fab glycolic Scrub Fix’! Have you also tried Clarisonic? xx

This Nip+Fab thing doesn’t sound that bad.. I’ll make sure to check it out. But when it comes to the Clarisonic, I’m afraid it’s a bit above my budget at the moment. I also don’t necessarily need electric brush, so it’s not in my wish list anyway. But thank you for your suggestions, really appreciate them <3

Yes! I have this one at my other home, but preferred to try another product instead of getting exactly the same one. I’ve used it just a couple of times and don’t have a strong opinion about it, but it’s not bad, I quite like it! Thanks for your suggestion xx
