Hey everyone, so I’m back in Scotland now, and as you can imagine, that’s a long way from my little Varna (you haven’t even heard of it, it’s that far!). It’s about 3000km away, which compared to some intercontinental flights is just a nap time 😀 But the preparation, the transport switches, the temperature difference, everything piles up and brings you to the edge of your energy. Then add the amount of work that’s waiting for you when you come back – collecting mail, preparing food, emptying your cases… your body and soul literally cry for a break from the break 😀 I also know that I have an exciting package from Malee waiting for me!
Anyway, here is how I relaxed after all that traveling:
1. Doing the most important chores
When I opened the door, there was a ton of letters, leaflets, packages, and notes. First I wanted to sort everything out, and throw the stuff I’m not interested in.
Then I made my bed, took all of my stuff out of the suitcase – some of them I put in the washing machine, other in my wardrobe. Many people are too tired or just prefer to leave their work for the next day – I like to do my things straight away, and to know that there’s nothing left to do. This way it’s easier for me to relax.
2. Taking a long shower
I mean, that’s the most obvious thing you’d do after a long flight.
I like to scrub all the dirt away – from my body and face. The heat left me with this unpleasant sticky feeling and I felt like I needed a very deep cleansing. I’ve started using the scrubbing Nip+Fab pads – first impression – very moist and gentle, will see if there’s an effect after using them for 10 days!
After my shower I needed some deep hydration and I tried a new product that was kindly sent to me. It was hidden in one of the packages impatiently waiting for me to open them – the Malee Conditioning Body Cream! To be honest, I was impressed without even trying the product. The packaging was brilliant, the ribbon was really beautifully wrapping the box, and the sweet handwritten note inside was absolutely heartwarming. The cream retails for £20 on the Malee website, but the whole experience that you are getting with it is priceless!
Malee products bring the African (vegan and cruelty-free) spirit right at your door. They are selling multi-award willing beauty products, and I can definitely see why they are so popular. Malee offer the best natural skin care products, and I’m also a massive fan of their candles. The packaging is gorgeous and make the perfect gift.
The after-shower cream is super thick and heavy, and you need some patience in the application process, but let me tell you – I’m obsessed with it! You can’t imagine how soft my skin is now, without being greasy or sticky. It also didn’t make my palms sweaty, like all the moisturizers do! I can’t define the scent, as I’ve never encountered any similar before, but it smells like something green and fresh. And here’s another fun fact: the founder Zeze named her brand after her grandmother Malee. Isn’t that the most adorable thing ever?
3. Putting a beauty mask on
That may sound strange to you, but I rarely use masks – either for face or hair. I just don’t enjoy the idea of being covered with something and hanging around like that for an hour. Don’t get me wrong, I would enjoy an occasional mark here or there, but that’s not something I regularly do.
I’ve got a sample of the Radial Dragon’s Blood Eye Mask and that was something I was keen to try! I’ve heard so many good things about this dragon mask, I just had to give it a go! Unfortunately it was a bit of a challenge to apply as the pads were gel-like, so they were flipping and sticking to my fingers. The pads are attached to other pads, so you end up wasting a lot of product. I can’t lie though, they left my skin incredibly soft and refreshed! But it seems like my expectations were a bit high about this product and I’m not sure if I’m going to repurchase 🙄
4. Lighting up some candles and catching up with videos, reality shows, and blogs
Candles always give me an amazing tranquil atmosphere, especially now when it’s cold outside! I lighted some tea and jar candles from Primark and I’m really impressed with how long they last! The only downside is that they are super relaxing and there’s a real chance to fall asleep and burn the house. But who cares, at least you’ve got your peaceful and much needed beauty sleep!
